Experience

2009 - Since February 2009 as a result of the impact of the recession I have been self employed. During this time I have been involved in architecture competitions and other projects, attended a web design course and have so far designed and built three websites. I am available for freelance architecture and web design projects.

 

2008 - Worked at Graeme Massie Architects in Edinburgh for a period of nine months. During my time at Graeme Massie Architects I was fortunate to work on a variety of projects, including work on a detailed Masterplan for Akureyri town centre in northern Iceland, a shortlisted competition entry for a large scale mixed-use development in Dubai, building warrant drawings for a new football club house in Johnstone, Lanarkshire and the design development of two private houses on the island of Islay.

 

Work on the Akureyri Masterplan involved collating a local planning document, looking at the massing, materiality and public realm strategy for the regeneration of the town centre that would provide a template for local architects to follow.

 

For the project in Dubai, I produced several final presentation images and was involved in the overall design development of the scheme.

 

Work on the Johnstone football club house involved producing detailed drawings for building warrant submission and the production of ‘setting-out’ drawings for the integral plywood cladding system.

 

I produced a feasibility study and presentation report for the design of two private houses on Islay and was wholly responsible for their design development and meeting with the client. The aim was to apply for planning permission in the winter, however the project has been put on hold until 2009.

 

2005-2008 - Studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, gaining B.Arch (Hons), Dip Arch and M.Arch degrees.

 

2003-2005 - Worked at Murray O’ Laoire Architects in Dublin for 18 months and was involved in a wide range of projects from large scale urban design to smaller scale tender packaged for student accommodation bedrooms and kitchens.
