The Inchmahome Priory, located on an island on the Lake of Menteith in the Trossachs, is today little more than a picturesque ruin. The purpose of the Special Subject was first to study the Priory in some detail in order to create a detailed drawing of the still elaborate west façade, it being felt that a drawing can present both a view of the whole and of the detail in ways which photography alone cannot. This process would present the question, what can you learn from a drawing?
